Position: Onsite Fractional Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager

Role Overview

A growing, project-driven organization is seeking an onsite, fractional Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to step in and take immediate ownership of core accounting functions. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong GAAP knowledge, deep General Ledger experience, and the ability to operate independently in a multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Maintain full responsibility for the General Ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and GAAP compliance
• Support and execute revenue recognition activities
• Prepare and review financial statements across multiple entities and locations
• Complete and maintain balance sheet reconciliations; proactively resolve discrepancies
• Support audit preparation, including schedules, documentation, and auditor requests
• Partner closely with Operations on:
  • Margin analysis
  • WIP-style or project-based cost tracking
  • Budget-to-actual performance analysis
• Provide hands-on guidance and informal leadership to accounting staff while retaining ownership of complex accounting matters
• Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements within Acumatica and related systems

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial reporting, and revenue recognition
• Experience supporting multi-entity, multi-location organizations
• Deep, hands-on ownership of the General Ledger
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment
• Comfortable balancing detailed execution with leadership and cross-functional collaboration

Systems & Technical Skills

• Acumatica experience preferred (training available)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, financial analysis)
